Like the title says really. In the next two months i will be planning on upgrading. All i am planning on is a m/b and graphics card.

What i am after from you guys is a recomendation on what is worth getting (like everyone else i know!). At the moment i am agp still as got cought out in the pci change last time, so trying to not make the same mistake again.

The rest of the spec will stay the same as sig, but was looking at an 1900xtx (pricing coming down to nearly £300) and at the mo an Asus board. Should i go for the new '32' type boards? not going to go sli or anything and just not got the cash. Don't have to go for an Asus, was looking at DFI, but with the mad pricing of them recently then not sure i can be arsed.

Just want something that will last me a good 18months for a change, last system before this current one lasted me just over two years before i gave in (good old 9700pro days !)

Bit of background, only using 17" screen at mo, but would like to look into a a widescreen and getting back into fps'ers again after a 3 year EVE fest, so would like new rig to be able to handle the new FEAR 2's in the future......kinda got the jist ;)

Really any poke in the right direction as all the chat about different boards etc are doing my head in and will take me ages to decide at this rate!

Cheers in advance, rant over :p

exactly right mate about getting loadsa replies on what is best. Well if the xt's are running just as good as the xtx'x then makes my life a lot easier as i can afford most of the boards about.
As for clocking then i'm not a heavy clocker, not since i moved to 64bit anyway (tried it with this board and it complained quite a bit, although was prob my clocking :p
So any other peeps that think getting the xt is a better bet? do agree on kinda not getting the top of the range all the time, especially when gpu's move so fast all the time !

Ok, so what about the A8R32-MVP Deluxe and and the other 32 pci-e boards? worth getting over some of the cheaper ones? must admit i would prob go Asus as i have had good ones in the past, but willing to make a change

p.s Nice sig ;)

Just been looking at the boards and my first idea would be the Asus A8N32-SLi Deluxe nForce4 SLi X16, pretty sure people are happy with these boards aswell.

So whats the better chipset at the mo? lol 580 or the Nvidia?
