So as of today I have £400 to spend on upgrades.
Currently have i5 3570k
Corsair vengeance 16gig ram
Samsung evo 250gig ssd
750w ocz psu
Gtx 1070
And the Alaska venum cpu cooler
Mainly looking to upgrade the cpu, ram and mobo for now. I have a new case coming next week and I have the usual mouse keyboard and monitor etc
What would you suggest ?
The case I'm getting has a large perspex window and is wall mountable so anything with a red/black theme is a bonus to match the msi shroud of the 1070.

Really like the aesthetics of that mobo but concerned about the lack of usb ports for the amount that I need.
Vive, head set, Web cam and a few others.
I've seen this one that I quite like but bit had chance to check any reviews yet and obviously it's £45 more

You will need a cpu cooler for the 6600k i have added 2 make sure it fits your case. You can get 16gb of Ram for an extra £ 14.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £467.41
(includes shipping: £10.50)

You'll be able to use the current fan you have I'd imagine, just throw some fresh thermal paste on it.

Yeah I was hoping this as there is a lot of room for adjustments on the brackets. I will be water cooling my cpu next year anyway so not too fussed about new coolers right now. Just watched some reviews of that mobo and it seems pretty decent but the lack of usb ports is putting me off. How good are pci usb 3 cards?

I wouldn't bother upgrading, it's a decent rig. What's your monitor?

Vega and Ruzen are round the corner which will at least mean price drops on competitors gear. I'd put it towards the next gen of graphics cards myself.

This.

I have essentially the same spec as you and moving from the 3570k to the 6600k just isnt worth the money yet. If your using a 32" TV you must only be gaming at 1080p and your system should be maxing any game with ease at that resolution.

true it doesnt really struggle at all tbh, main reason i want to upgrade is i have the money to do so and knowing me if i dont then i will see something shiney and spend the money on that instead.
i suppose i could just the case i want a water cooler for my cpu and maybe a new hard drive as some of mine are aincent

I would agree you have a strong system there already. If you want buy some new hard drives for the system you have and water cool it. When you do finally upgrade you could take the water cooler, new drives and other components to the new system but right bow I wouldn't advise you to drop money on a new cpu and board.

ordered me a new case (thermal take core p3) and a Aio water cooler. going to get some new hard drives next week when i can put the rest of the money in the bank.
thanks for the advice guys
