hi all i got 400 to spend on my old pc any suggestions are more than welcome :)
my old pc spec:
motherboard msi p6n 680 (foulty one) thinking off asus blitz formula but dunno if is any problems with it
cpu old p4 505 2.66 dunno quad or c2d
gpu sparkle 7800gt 256mb 400/1000
ram 2X1G ocz 8500 sliready
case antec 900
some optical drive sony
psu enermax 600w (noisetaker?)
17in lcd monitor
g7 logitech media keyboard
 
This would be a huge upgrade:

With your fast RAM you'd be able to overclock this proc quite well.

If you come up with some more money you can look at a C2Q. As it is I've spent it all. :p

I would ramp up to a E6750 to pair with that board. Might not overclock as well %wise, but has a faster FSB and clock to start with.

With RAM that fast it would be better to start with a CPU with a lower multiplier. I think it's money better spent. If you start spending more on the CPU you have to take away from the graphics card.
 
hmmmm thanks thats tempting but what with E6850?? i got cpu cooler zalman led that biger one and ive got hdds wd 250g 16mb cache and samsung 80g 8mb cache
