Ok I'm currently overclocking my amd 4000+ and have reached the fabled 250fsb mark but I'm unable to get things stable.

my setup is
amd 4000+ san diego
ASrock 939dual-SATA2 (ULi M1695)
OCZ pc3200 platinum rev 2 1gb dual channel (2-2-2-5)

At 240, these settings work fine. At 250, windows will boot, I can browse the internet etc but super pi won't get past loop 1.

I'm pretty sure its a memory thing considering super pi won't work and 3dmark 2001se won't finish (crashes) When it comes to memory my knowledge is pretty limited (I don't really know what most of these settings actually do heh). But here goes

Mem clock 200mhz
Flexibility option disabled
CAS 2.5
TRAS 7
TRP 3
TRCD 3
TRRD 3
TRC 7
MA Timing 1
Burst length 4 beats
Bank Interleaving auto
memory hole disabled
DRAM voltage - High

Any suggestions?

motherboard bios doesn't support dram changes choices are auto, normal or high, I think high is 2.7v. Can't go any higher unless I volt mod :p

managed to get super pi to complete at 247fsb (28.578s woo) but after a restart it failed again.

I guess I'll try 166 divider with faster timings see if thats any better.

Divider is the obvious first choice, if its still unstable after that consider upping the CPU voltage or maybe you have reach the limit of your chip?

well I'm at 245fsb and it's stable as a rock vcore is 1.4v, mem divider on but memory running slightly slower than stock at 196mhz :/

might play with memory timings some more see what I come up with. I'm still convinced I can get 3ghz stable though :p
