Hey all,

Basically my good ol' 400D has gotten into a spot of bother.

I went to show my friend how big a CF card is compared to an SD card, however when I went to push in the catch it just fell into the camera.

Fast forward 30mins and I basically have the little notch and two little bits of metal.

I can't seem to remove my CF card,

Is there a 'safe' way to remove the card? I realise is should pull out with a pair of pliers but I don't want to hurt the camera.

This was bought in 2008 and therefore is WAY outa warranty :P

Thanks :)

thats not good, its sounds like it will need to go for repair, however i am thinking the repair might be not a lot less then the cameras worth. Tuff choices. Hope its a big card in there so you can keep using it and dumping data via USB!

The catches work by pushing the memory card up on 2 points. You should be able to remove it if you apply even pull force to both edges.

Its likely that the camera will have to be disassembled and a THE socket replaced on the board. Fiddly job!
