400D Dead - What to replace it with?

From everything that I've read here, I would say the OP would probably be best off with a 550D. This coming from a 40D user! :p

But I would suggest trying a 40D first. Perhaps you could buy one and try it for a few weeks - if you don't get on with it then you probably won't lose much selling it on again :)
 
Just an update. I did some research and a common fault with the 350/400/450 is a fuse blowing. I had it repaired for £40 by sending it to someone advertising on ebay. Local camera place wanted £120+

Very fast turnaround and all is working again.
