400d or 450d

Right! A quick question to clarify some points! I thought I'd ask the ocuk camera bods!

I'm looking at buying my dad a d-slr for his birthday. I have a 400d and I love it- its a great camera, but I can't help thinking that it might be worth stepping up one to the 450d. Do you reckon it'd be worth it? He's been using leica slrs for years and its time to take the digital step!

So- recommendations please! Obviously other alternatives would be great!

If you are considering the 450D, you might want to have a look at the 40D as well - there is a canon cashback offer on where you can get £100 back on the 40D which brings the price down to a similar price level to the 450D depending where you are getting it from (doesn't apply on imported cameras I believe) - I got mine for £629, so £529 after cashback whereas the 450D from the same retailer is £499 - So definitely worth the extra £30 IMO

Of course this is assuming you are buying new and from the UK, if not it probabaly doesn't apply.
