I usually upgrade ever couple years ... last upgrade was to my current systems.

bearing in mind these were classed 'top of the range '

XP3200 ( Was no faster AMD CPU)
9800 Pro Atlantis 256mb ( Was just released )
1.5GHz Pc3200 ( DDR333 DDR400 diddnt even have a release date )
3*200G ATA133 Drives

yup yer talking around 2003 >< ( now i feel olde)

Never had a prob untill recently when noticed when i play new games its start lagging slightly after few hours anything above 1280x1024 (Default I play @ ) Now the new monitor default is 1680*1050 an without AA etc runs fine but higher starts getting choppy. So basically im setting up a new system with the intention of lasting a further few more years.
If the 8900 is before Dec im prepared to wait ... It depends how big of a jump in performance/longegivity im going to get out of the system.

£400 was an ish Figure for the card , am prepared add another £100 IF and only IF was gonna get a major boost than a <£100 less card.
