Hi all,

One of my old PCs is a AMD Athlon, socket 939 job with a 400Mhz FSB and is currently taking DDR PC3200 RAM. I want to upgrade the RAM, but PC3200 is very expensive.

If I stuck PC4200 RAM (DDR2) in there, would it reject it or simply run it slower?

It won't physically fit I'm afraid. DDR2 is a 240pin config while DDR is 184pin. It simply won't work at all.
