Hi All, just tried to connect to the internet on my grandad's notebook computer so I could get him up to date before he uses it on his own at home, now my connection is supplied via a router which works fine with my 2 computers and my laptop but as soon as I pluged the network cable into my grandads computer it started giving the above error no matter what page I visit... help please!

Sounds like you need to add that PC to the Access List in your router.

Hmm I have no idea how to do that, nor have I had to add any in the past I should also note I get the same error when I try to access the router on the laptop

Strange, I would log on to the router with another PC and see if it's set up. What router is it?

Saying that, if your using a cabled connection I can't see why you would bother with an access list.
