As per title: 4070ti super good to buy now feb2025? Given how long a 5070ti may take to come on sale? Opinions from those in the know welcome, much appreciated!

i paid £815 for mine about 2-3 weeks ago..

i thought that was quite pricey but with that they are now, i think my deal wasn't to bad.

Personally I’d wait and see what the new AMD cards bring to the table. If they’re priced aggressively it could prompt team green to reduce 5070ti prices if you absolutely must have a green card, but also if they’re good then they may be worth a buy instead.

Duh, you need to get in a time machine and go back to 2023 and buy one. Right guys?

But seriously, I'd wait and see what the 9070xt brings. It'll likely be another flavour of 4080 to add to the 5 or 6 we have already.

Nah, that's too much. It's a bad period to buy due to inventory shortages (also remember Chinese new year just ended) but they'll rebound past March. If you already have a GPU then I'd say it won't hurt to wait, certainly for non-5090, there's no danger of prices increasing even more or of supply staying low. Plus 9070/XT will put pressure on 5070/Ti, so they can't be as mindless as they are now.

Seems a terrible time to buy a 4070ti Super unless you are getting a big discount or 2nd hand.

If you had £850-£950 to spend you could have bought a 5070ti just few days ago. And there will be more in stock and 9070XT released within the next few weeks. Just be patient.

Just my 2p.

I recently purchased a 4070ti 12Gb last month from the MM for £480. I needed a card to replace my 1080ti as wanted to play some games with an RT requirement. I was hoping to wait until the 5 series launch but based on the 5090 stock a rumours at the time for the 5080 I decided to go for it. I also paired it with a DELL AW3423DWF 3440x1440 165hz OLED monitor. The card has been fantastic, It's running a decent overclock and at the refresh rate in pretty much all games, DLSS required for some non competitive games.

I sold my 1080ti for £175 so a nice cheap upgrade! Looking at the benchmarks, the 4070ti is not far off most of the benchmarks in 1440 over the 5070ti. Keep an eye out for second hand, I agree with most above, does not make sense if paying full price new.
