4080 showing speed of 16.1.1 in GPU-Z

Hi

am having a problem with the reported speed o f used 4080 just bought. It is showing as in the title in gpuz 16.1.1. When I run the gpuz render test, it begins with 16.4 but then counts down to 16.1. after a couple of seconds.

I am using a corsar RM850x psu with a Corsair 12v cable splitting into two going into psu from the 4080. My motherboard is an X570 Mag Tomahawk with a 5800x3d, a 500gig W Dm.2 in top slot 4.0 and a Sabrant 500gig m.2 in bottom slot running at 3.0.

I had a 3080 in build this morning and all was okay.

HW Info shows -
Video Bus: PCIe v4.0 x16 (16.0 GT/s) @ x16 (2.5 GT/s)

I've checked the bios and changed the Gens to 4.0

I have looked at numerous webpages but have no answers.

The card seems to be running well in games, but in cod mw2 the fps is pretty much same as the 3080.

I am really tired so calling it a day.

Would appreciate any help.

Power saving when gpu is under low load, try running a game in a window and it should not drop. If it does still drop, check the card is seated fully in its slot.

Just had Kena opened and then opened hw info and got this as gpu details
Video Bus: PCIe v4.0 x16 (16.0 GT/s) @ x16 (16.0 GT/s)

Is this right?

Just played a couple of matches of cod mw2 low/med settings -
gpu clock 2820
avg fps 132
Vram Usage = 65%
Checked HW info whilst in lobby and showed same PCIe v4.0 x16 (16.0 GT/s) @ x16 (16.0 GT/s)

I thought pcie 4.0 was like 64 gt/s ?

Edit: after a bit of research I see that pcie 4.0 is 16.0 gt/s

So I kinda think it all okay but those fps numbers in cod seem really low when seeing people online with 150ish no problem. Hmm..

Quickest way to get a mod to close a thread is to ‘report’ your opening post. Not sure if that’s the correct way but unless you do that or tag a mod eg @Maccy you’re relying on one seeing your post
