4080 super running like crap

What cpu cooler and what temps are you seeing in games.
remember the 4080s is only about 13% faster than a 3090, ive seen a few review's online says the power phases have been cut back, have you undervolted the card with curve optimizer, you could be hitting the power limit??

if you monitor is 165Hz it's advised you set a max of 164 in control panel as setting it the same as the refresh rate can cause visual problems
(this is apparently a know problem) i was told to do this when asking or the cap FPS in loading screens
I've not under volted the card. I'm close to putting my 3090 back in.

Yes I did this and it was awful. Really low fps and cpu stuck on 99%

At 1440??

What is DLSS set to?

Install GeForce experience… and tell it to optimise your games. I think you have messed about with setting that much it’s just all **** up

Turn it on and set it to quality
DLSS is a good thing
i had it on on my 3090 and the image went blurred in the distance when moving slow. so never used it. it looks ok on the 4080 super but ive just run a test and its getting lows of 80fps. huge drops
the cod screenshot is without dlss but ive also posted my hwid while streaming and playing cod.

frame drop could be down to anything not just cpu/gpu.

one of the biggest things on a PC that causes stutters and things like this are audio.
i mean if you streaming as well what do you use to capture image and record/stream.

based on the screenshot you just provided everything is fine, you 1% low was 114fps thats very good. if you getting massive drops when streaming then look at that set up

here it is with dlss on. big drops randomly. these bench marks are without any streaming software running. the link on my previous post has the hwid data on while streaming and gaming.

yer that is a big difference, but your average as gone up by a few... strange

DLSS go's on a sliding scale, from quality to performance.
Set ever setting in the game to max that will drop your fps, then use DLSS to tune.
it will be set to quality by default because your system is a good spec, just drop it one notch at a time.

can i ask what you paid for the 4080s? because it a lot of money for 13% upgrade over the 3090.
the money for me would be better spent of 14700k or 7800x3d

upgradeing from a 3090 right now is 4090 or pointless, the 3090 is not old enough yet for a 80 card to be a lot better that would be next gen

Have you checked GPU-Z to check what Pci speed you're running at?

it running fine, he hitting 164 average FPS, the problem is drops to 80 and some point in the game.
i think he just expected more

This screen shot shows it all good
