4090 Build

Currently running with old gear, i78700k & 1080ti.
I'm looking at building a racing simulator with triple monitors, and motion feedback via servos.

I know what I'm getting for most, apart from 1 thing.... The CPU.

I've been doing a lot of overtime to fund this, and the PC needs to run triple monitors @1440 (I thought 4k was still too much.

I'm definitely going for the Aorus 4090 (I have the money saved for this now)

Board is going to be Aorus Master

But the last part I'm really.torn between, is the CPU. Been thinking of the i9 14000, or the R7 8700x3D as from what I've seen, this has been really good.

When I see the benchmarks, majority is single 1080 monitors, and complaints about not using correct RAM speeds to utilise the R7.
90% will be gaming, and the rest will be video editing. Bearing in mind, I'm.happy with my current hardware, so any CPU is a big upgrade, and I'm more concerned with the gaming side. (and there will be streaming too)

I've also read, people who have gone from AMD to Intel, find the PC is smoother?

So running triples 1440, and possible streaming, what is advisable to get the best out of the 4090?

For racing games I suspect you'll find the X3D is the best, it absolutely smashes Assetto Corsa in HUB's benchmarks here. Generally speaking, if the X3D CPUs lose to the i9, it is not by much, whereas the reverse is not true.

But, 14th gen has APO and there haven't been enough benchmarks yet, to reliably say what difference it is going to make in the future.

For your 10%, the 14th gen i7 or i9 have way faster productivity performance than the 7800X3D, but obviously a 7950X3D would have different results.

Does multiple monitors affect these results via CPU too, as I see higher resolution become GPU bound and the difference between the chips are marginal.

And in reality, the 10% of other work, even the R7 I'd imagine would be better that my older i7, so either way would be an improvement for me.

Yeah, higher resolution makes you more GPU bound, but the higher energy efficiency of the X3D is still present and the cache is still useful sometimes even at 4K, as you can see here for Assetto Corsa (9:42):

Would streaming/game capture make an effect on either CPU, or are they just marginal figures I'm over thinking here.
