Hi guys,
I have a 4090FE which I have been running water cooled the last few years with no issues. I now want to rebuild the 4090FE with the air cooler. I remember the pads on the VRMs were kinda falling apart and I didn't make a good job of keeping them together. Can anyone point me to specs of what pads thickness I need to get and where I could get them ? I saw on Reddit someone talking about using putty but not familiar with this. When I rebuilt my 3080 a few years back I ordered pads from OverClockers, I think it was 1mm and 2mm thickness pads, they were pretty expensive as well from what I remember. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I want to upgrade to 5090 but I'm aware stock is going to be a nightmare as per usual. Any tips on how to win on the 30th ? I read they go available at 2pm is this correct, I changed zone for UK wasn't sure if this was right ? Are OverClockers doing pre orders, would that we worth while as for the 4090 I ended up pre ordering on OverClockers but ended up getting a refund and finally got lucky on an Nvidia drop a month later.
Thanks,
Kev
