The ones supplied are a complete mess and not easy to cable manage.
I went for the cablemods item, but they are expensive and there’s quite a long lead time.
Corsair do one that’s a lot cheaper and is far easier to cable manage.
 
Just to give an example, here's the original cable vs the Cablemod in my system..

So it's not hard to see why people replace the Nvidia cable.

Yep, that’s mainly the reason I swapped my cable too.

The 4 x PCIE cables with their additional daisy-chain connectors were cluttering the hell out of the internal airflow.

Took about 2 weeks for my CableMod adaptor to turn up.
