4090FE why are these still be scalped?

I noticed in a few places that 4090 FE still seem to be bought up by scalpers. All other 4090 seem to be readily available so I am wondering why? I was always under the impression these wasn't much difference between FE and board partners if anything board partners have better cooling?

Possibly because case & power supply compatibility is much greater with the FE cards than the AIB ones, none of which will fit in my case and many of which (supposedly) draw more power than the 850w recommendation of the FE cards.


..and from a personal aesthetic POV, the FE cards look sooooo much nicer than all the tacky & wacky AIB designs.

100% agree with the looks. I am sure why they still don't put out a standard looking card and now all these "gamer" looks.

I guess my reason for asking is I am upgrading in Jan as my daughter is getting my current rig for 1440p gaming (2080ti + 3900x). Current rig is full water custom hard-line water cooled, which I won't be doing again. I'll be looking to get a case with no window and good airflow. Like the torrent, so unsure as size won't be an issue of FE really matters or actually if AIB will run with lower fan noise. (Only thing I'll miss with custom loop)

I doubt it is being scalped. It's just the cheapest 4090 and has lower volumes then AIBs combined.

Anyone trying to resell them is breaking even at best.
