Does the 40GB PS3 that is currently available in the shops in the UK have out of the box wireless capability?

Just wondering..

What is the effect on MP gaming on the wireless connection? I know when PC gaming using the actual Ethernet connection is a lot better to reduce lag, is it the same with the PS3??

I doubt there is that much in it as long as you have a good strength/stable signal to your wireless router/computer. But I guess you will always get marginally better rates with a stable wired connection over wireless.

I use mine wired 1Gbit connection.

I didn't actually know the 40gb had wireless, I've been switching wires about all this time lol.

I just bought mine last Saturday and wasn't aware of wireless functionality either.

Seriously it has wireless!?! I have been using an ethernet cable and never even thought to check if it had the wireless functionality.

I bought mine in December just before Christmas.

Will have to check that out once I get from work in Sheffield.

I just didnt realise that it hadnt been removed. From what I understood it was removed from the 40gb model.

On my PC it adds around 3ms latency to my connection.
