Not often my home town get a mention among premiership teams, but spotted in today's BBC gossip column that the local womens reserves have a potential world record score!

The opposition got off to a poor start when only eight players started the game. A ninth turned up after 20 minutes but they were two players short throughout the match.

Demotivated or not, a goal inside every 2 mins is good.

As for the forfeit, I thought it was 7 players min at this VERY low level of football

That is bloody good for a womens team. If they play football anything like they do hockey then its a miracle they move fast enough to score that many in 90 minutes.

The scoreline is a British record for an amateur or professional match, but surprisingly falls well short of the world record.

This is held by Stade Olympique L'Emyrnert, a professional Madagascan team who scored 149 own goals as a protest against a referee in 2002.

Their opponents AS Adema won 149-0 without ever gaining possession.

Thats so awesome! Wonder what the ref said/did...

That's wrong, at one of the kick offs the other team would have had possession, yet couldn't score against a team who wanted to lose!

Not if the disagreement with the ref was AFTER the other team had kicked off, for presumably the start of the first half.

EDIT: Oh yea, I see what you mean, they must have touched the ball at some point.
