4200 RAM on 4300 mobo?

Hi all,

Silly question perhaps, but I am a novice... I have just purchased a load of parts with which I am going to build my first PC. I have since noticed that the specs of the RAM are PC4200, but the specs of the motherboard says it supports 4300, plus some higher ones. Do I now have a problem or will the 4200 work just fine?

The motherboard is an MSI K9VGM-V by the way.

I think u meant 5300. The mb supports Dual Channel DDR II 533/667/800. Thats pc4200, pc5300 and pc6400. Your ram will work fine.

PC4200 will work fine on any oboard that supports DDR2 Its a little on the slow side compared with most other DDR2 models though.
