I have a 4200+ x2 on a A8V mb with 2gb of ocz ddr 400 (platinum edition). I have increased the fsb to 220 mhz which makes the cpu run at 2420mhz (2200 stock ) it i idles at anything between 42c and 48c (usualy 44c) and max temp at 53c -54c. It seems stable and I have had no probs at all so far (its been ocd about 1 week) but is it ok to run the memory this much faster or do you see me running into problems in the future. Also for some reason my mb puts the cpu voltage at 1.40 automatically so I left that where it was. Do you think I should go any higher and if I do should I just increase the fsb more or should I lock the mem at 333mhz and see if I can oc it to 400mhz ish. I would be interested if anyone else has got a 4200x2 on an asus A8V and what others have managed to get out of it.

Thanks

I'm running similar kit in my sig memory at 3.3.3.6 1t left at 200, HTT x 4 and FSB at 255 giving 2800 with nice memory bandwidth and a generally nippy system all round. welcome to the forums as well fella.

if its stable,r am should be fine

1.4 is probably the default v-core for your cpu. X2s range from 1.35 to 1.45 at stock i believe

My timings are 2.5,3,2,5 2t but I don't think I have a way to lock my my mem at 200, I can change the ratios to 1:1,4:3,5:3 or 2:1. I had it on auto which was at 2:1 I guess because CPUZ said my frequency was 220mhz (440 ddr). HT was at 1000 which I guess is x5 (800 HT for x4?). I don't fancy running my mem any faster than ddr 440 so I was thinking of putting it at 5:3(333mhz) and then seeing how much I could increase the fsb to get it close to running the mem at ddr 400, ill turn the ht down to 800mhz to. That way I might be able to get more out of the cpu without stressing the mem to much.
I would appreciate any advice on the subject because I'm quite new to overclocking but I've got a good heatsink and fairly good mem so I thought I would give it a go, I have done it before on my old A64 3000+ but I only clocked up a small amount because I didn't have good mem then.
