at the moment i have a 4200x2 @2.5ghz and i am planning to upgrade to something like an e4500 or e6300 sometime soon. i'm just wondering how much of an upgrade that would be if i clocked the c2d to about 2.8ghz in gaming (crysis :)) and just in general.

right now i have an x1950gt, but i will be upgrading to an 8800gt, and my res is 1680x1050.

thanks.

edit: of course i would be getting a new mobo as well. any well known good value clockers?

edit: is the 2160 worth considering or should i opt for one with a bigger cache?

thanks for the advice, i'll get a p35 board so i can upgrade to a 45nm quad when i can afford one, but i will just buy a cheap dual core for now.

i've found an ASROCK SKT-775 4CORE1600TWINS-P35 for £56 at a local shop, has anybody had any experience overclocking with this board? i'll post in the mobo section as well.
