Any recommendations for a cheap 43" 4K? I've got approx. £300 to spend and am currently looking at the Philips 43PUS6754 and Samsung UE43RU7020. I prefer the Philips due to inclusion of DV and the Ambilight feature. Any others I should be looking at?

Not sure that’s true, Rtings aren’t UK focussed so in this instance are suggesting a Visio that we don’t have over here and they don’t seem to review Philips sets.

I picked up a 43” LG for my bedroom last week and honestly it’s fantastic for the money.

Picture quality is great and I’ve been very happy with it.

The model is: 43UM7400PLB.

4K HDR looks great, paid £280 for it from Argos. :)

43" Hisense Roku r43b7120uk for £249 punches well above its weight. Picked one up for spare bedroom and the picture and sound are very impressive at this price point. The software is also streets ahead of any TV I've seen since it has Roku 4k built in so no need for any additional boxes.

Yeah doesn’t really help when the top rated isn’t available in the UK!

CHEAPER ALTERNATIVE: SAMSUNG UN43RU7100FXZA

ALTERNATIVE WITH WIDE VIEWING ANGLES: SONY XBR43X800H

How does that not help?

ALTERNATIVE WITH ANDROID TV INTERFACE: SONY XBR43X800G

Notable Mentions
  • Samsung QN43Q60TAFXZA: The Samsung Q60T QLED is a good entry-level QLED TV, but it can't remove judder from lower frame rate content like the Vizio M7 Series Quantum 2019. See our review
  • Samsung QN43Q60RAFXZA: The Q60R is the 2019 version of the Q60T. Performs marginally better overall, and may be available cheaper if found on clearance. See our review
  • Samsung QN43LS03RAFXZA: Good TV with a unique design, but The Frame 2019 doesn't perform as well in dark rooms as the Vizio M7 Series Quantum 2019. See our review
  • LG 43UM7300PUA: The LG UM7300 is a good overall TV, but its viewing angles aren't as good as the Sony X800H. See our review
  • LG 43UK6300: The UK6300 is an average LED TV with wide viewing angles, but poor value compared to the cheaper TCL S525 and hard to find. See our review
  • Vizio V435-G0 : The Vizio V Series 2019 is a decent TV, but the TCL S425 has better smart features. See our review
  • TCL 43S325: The TCL 3 Series is a mediocre TV but quite cheap. Good choice for a secondary TV. See our review
  • TCL 40D100: The TCL 1 Series is a good basic LED TV without any smart features. Good if you already have an external

I have the 43” LG 7400 in my bedroom too. For just under £300 it’s a great tv....

As above

maybe read the rest of the page rather than just the first few lines.

over 90% of the tv's they review are also available here in the UK.

phillips is crap anyway. go look at hdtvtest or avforums for proof. they review them and they don't review well. people buy them for gimmicky ambilight which actually makes picture quality worse. i use BIAS lighting and I get mine from Ikea costs like £7 and I can add it to any tv. buying a crap tv for backlighting is like buying a sony tv for android. you can add android to any tv through a third party mechanism.
