Hi,

just tried casino royale on my HTPC bluray drive and my Athlon X2 4000 was on 100% and was still a bit stuttery.

Currently using onboard gfx on a 690g chipset so assume it is because of that.

Looking for a silent cheap decent ish card for my HTPC. It will never be for games but just movies, also has to have HDMI is that is the output I'm using now.

Don't worry about sound as my amp doesn't have HDMI so currently just using analogue sound.

Oh just found out I got a spare old x800 GTO2 kicking about,

Would that card be any good for bluray playback, it's a few years old though....

Unless its got HDCP built-in (I doubt it) which is a Blu-ray playback requirement the answer is no.

argh ok going to buy a gfx now then in that case, not looking to spend loads as will never ever play games :p

Got a 360 and wii attached to my TV for that sort of stuff :)

so would the 4350 be ok or worth spending extra for the next model up ?

4350 will be fine.

- ATI Avivo HD video and display technology
- Unified Video Decoder 2 (UVD) for Blu-ray and HD Video
- Built-in HDMI with 5.1 surround sound support
- On-chip HDCP
