43UD79-B £120 Price increase on Overclockers

OcUK have overcharged on monitors compared to other retailers for a while now. Just look at the prices of some of the high hz gsync ones for comparisons.

I'm saying they had it priced competitively at 629.99. All of a sudden the price has jumped overnight this week to £749.99.:eek::eek::eek:

Was shocking, to say the least!! I was looking to buy TWO monitors!

Think this is just a retailer thing, increase the prices before dropping them for a discount on Black Friday. If you analyse prices of specific items they are often as cheap in September as on BF, this is not just OC.
It could also be down to simply demand but short supply...

@EViLHomer48 - Whilst I do agree with what you say, the practice of raising prices before a sale is quite despicable and as we all know has been widely condemned by the media who largely associate it to ripoff dealers.

Was about to buy this monitor and this has increased in price by £120 pretty much overnight! How come? Is it due to Xmas?

I just bought a LG 43UJ750 tv and am using it as a 4K monitor and it works great :) if you dont need the extra features of the 43UD79-B why not save £200 ?

Retailers need to make money otherwise they don't survive. I am not commenting on the practice good or bad (although I am not interested in the media's take, customers should investigate prices or take the fact they might have paid more than they need). I would include "rip off" merchants in the category of those acting outside the rules.
Despicable is an emotive word. I've no idea why in this case.

Thank-you for pointing out this monitor/TV. I was looking for two large screen monitors primarily for trading and wanted high resolution @ 3840X2160. I have a grafx card that supports upto four at this resolution and I will only be looking to use one port on the screen. It looks like the monitor you suggested does support high resolution. At the very least, it gives me additional options. Saying that, I have found another dealer that has the 43UD79-B for £625 but now I'm thinking that I might wait until Black Friday :).
