Just wondered how they could get away with charging such a huge increase in price for just the box and heatsink? in comparison with the 2800+ and its retail box its not a very large price difference but as you can see here its quite large? or have i missed something?

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+ (Socket 939) - OEM
Price: £209.95 (£246.69 Including VAT at 17.5%)

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+ (Socket 939) - Retail

Price: £277.95 (£326.59 Including VAT at 17.5%)

 curious

Don't forget the difference in warranties.. 1yr->OEM, 3yr->retail box.

AMD are selling off S939 stock cheap and I think OcUK got a good deal on the OEM 4400+ hence the bargain price, don't knock it, its cheap CPUs for overclockers that will be using aftermarket cooling :)

i only bought a 3700 in late feb and its gone from £160 to £100 already!!
I hate it when that happens :(

Oh well atleast dual cores are coming down too :D

Hi there

We just got a good deal and passed it on. If your not happy with OcUK been the cheapest we can always put the price up. ;)

Have you stopped receiving x2 3800s from AMD yet Gibbo or they are still making the dual cores? Can we expect any more price drops on the dual core range particularly the 3800?

More price drops will come, unsure whether the stock will be about too, will have to wait and see. Price drops are still a month away anyway.
