4400+ X2 Temp Check

Pretty much what I get although maybe a little on the on the hot side.

What cooling are you using?

The stock cooler from a 3700+ (the non-heatpipe 939 HSF). Not ideal, I know.

Looking at changing it for the 939 X2 Stock HSF, as this should do the job better.

The system isn't overclocked and I'm not planning on overclocking it.

Thats pretty mcuh fine then.

My X2 4400 runs at about 30ish (i dont know as it hasn't run idle for a VERY long time) and about 55ish at full load with an EVO120 and slow speed fan.

if your not oc, its fine. if your gonna oc, temps will hold you back soon..

i used to get 80c loaded @ 2900mhz with WC O.o, ive had to decap to get down to 40c load

Thanks :)

So what's the max temp I should let this chip get to? I'm using CoreTemp to get these readings by the way.

It gives a TCaseMax of 63C - is that a reasonable limit?

Jon

if u need a new cooler, look at something cheapo like the arctic cooling freezer 64pro, or the coolermaster version or even the thermaltake TMG version. all are very cheapo and can help direct the heat out the back of the case.

Thanks Cyber :)

Are both those you mentioned direct replacements? Ie, can I install them without taking the motherboard out of the case?

Jon

My X2 4400+ (Skt939) at 2.5ghz has been hitting 54c under full load (video conversion, 3dmark06, orthos etc) and idling at around 38c. This is with an Akasa tower type fan.

54 degrees is a little high for my liking but then again it's been pretty hot the last few days and my room has a tendency to trap heat very effectively. :(

my opty 175 (clocked to 2.4) is idling around 40 when it normally idles around 33 so the heat is having an effect :(

Yeah I thought it might do.

This one's sitting just over 40C, just surfing the net and playing music. Still hitting 60C on full load though, I'm still worried that that's too hot...

Any thoughts?
