Hi people
I'm looking to put together a pc for my mum with a budget of £450.
She is thinking of going for a prebuilt system but I have told her that I can get a better spec if she lets me put it together for her....(no gaming on this machine)
Requirements are for the tower only:-
Windows 10
8gb ram
Smallish case
Decent processor
SSD drive
And if possible a Wireless mouse and keyboard...

Can you guys help me pick the parts?

Two quick build lists....

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £439.94
(includes shipping: £11.10)

ITX build...

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £407.10
(includes shipping: £12.30)

mATX build (which is the cheaper of the two, and could be altered to add a more powerful processor).

Edit: And an AMD build (I had to wipe the previous out because I forgot that it needed a dedicated graphics card)

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £400.10
(includes shipping: £12.30)

You can get a quad core AMD processor for the same price, but as I've already mentioned you will have to add a dedicated graphics card which could bring the total near to the budget limit.

This would be my take. Good CPU which will eat anything she's likely to throw at it plus upgrade-able to i5 should the need arise and a (reasonably) decent case/PSU bundle.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £439.59
(includes shipping: £11.70)
