£450 Budget

Can anyone spec me a complete base unit for £450. I`ve been looking at the Core 2 Duo E6750. I don`t intend to game as i have an Xbox 360 but i want to do some video encoding to WMV for Xbox playback.

It's 25 overbudget but what you're getting is a heck of a rig. With a good cooler it'd be good for 3 GHz.

If you can't stretch that far I can trim away and get it in under budget. I just really wanted to get the quad core processor in there.

Possibly to around 3gig. I not sure what is possible from this prosessor.

Billy's spec is great, even more so because it has a Q6600 and that is a godsend for video encoding. The only thing I would change is the GeIL for the OCZ as the OCZ is on "This Week Only" and is about £10 cheaper.

EDIT: With that change it takes the out-the-door price to £467.52.

What figures could i expect to see when overclocking this spec?
PS With a bit of shopping around i`ve managed to drop the price to £430

The stock cooler might be good for 2.6 Ghz. A decent aftermarket cooler like the Scythe Ninja or Tuniq Tower would be good for 3-3.2, perhaps even more.
