Sup guys.

We're looking at getting a HTPC for a media room with a budget of around £450. It needs to be capable of blu-ray play back and needs relatively high storage space for films, 500GB is fine. Also needs to include Windows 7 and I quite like the look of the Antec Fusion Remote htpc case. Otherwise, I'm not too sure as to what to put in it...

Cheers.

How does this look?

785G mobo with a low power x2 athlon. 2GB RAM, 1TB, sythe mini ninja passive.

Should get all that in budget I think, awesome awesome setup. Run media portal and you'll get all the hardware decoding from the 785.

As posted above. Using a low power athlon with a passive scythe ninja mini and an Antec case along with a Samsung drive. The CPU is cool and the system silent. Just what you want for an HTPC.

Thanks guys, although just wondering if it'd be possible to route the audio of the film through the TV speakers? It's a 42" Panasonic with a good sound system. Is it possible to do this? Or do I need a motherboard with a HDMI output?

Also, is any square mobo like the one above ok in terms of size for the Antec Fusion Remote as it says on the website it has a 'MicroATX Form Factor' ?

EDIT: Just realised that the above specced mobo does have HDMI, but will it still send out sound to the TV?

Cheers
