Hey all, recently built my own computer from advice on here because of this i'm seen as the tech wizard around my mates :(
Somebody I know would like a computer with everything, keyboard mouse screen OS speakers within this price.

Does anybody have any ideas on what parts should be used?

Okay how about:

This would leave you with £50 for a graphics card if required or if not then just use the onboard IGP.

EDIT: I have not included OS in that build. That would take you just over budget.

How's that look? The motherboard has onboard graphics, if they want to do some gaming on that budget then they'll either need to save some money by buying some parts 2nd hand (or possibly go for a smaller monitor). If they're a student they also might be able to get a discount on Windows 7.

We are all students yes, how much of a discount would be possible?

EDIT: Upgrade means so much cheaper, cheers for the heads up! And for the feedback!

Can get Windows 7 Pro for £35 on PUGH.

That would let you slip a gfx card in there - a second hand HD4850/HD4870 will still cope with games fine.

Redmints spec is what you should go for as you can save up and buy a fairly decent GPU because you are getting a decent psu and thats the most important component of a build .

It seems you got around £300 for the tower, too bad OCUk doesnt allow competitors since I could spec you a £300 build (tower only) with a Athlon X4@ 3.0GHz, 4 GB RAM, Radeon 5750, 500GB HDD and a good MSI mobo.
