450D or D3000?

So, instead of the 1000D, i thought i might as well go for the 450D after a lot of thinking. Then i thought.. for this price the D3000 is an alternative.. but because it's not out yet there is no proper side by side comparison of the 2.

So i'm asking you guys whether you think i should wait a little bit until the D3000 comes out and then see how that compares to the 450D?
Or just say screw it and buy the 450D?

Have been to one. The D60 is more comfortable, but i find the 450D still handles great. D3000 isn't out yet so i can't try that, but it's similar to the D60?

Not gonna buy any more lenses just yet, so don't need to worry about that.

So 450D buy today / tomorrow or wait like a month til D3000's are out?

When you mention cleaning Derek, what kinda stuff needs cleaning and how often? I bought some Hama lens cleaning pen thing because it had good reviews.
And some products point out the obvious; that the sensor has to be cleaned.. what's the best way around this? (And which bit is the sensor? )
What else needs cleaning?

Anyone else think i should just buy or wait?
I kinda want to get it now and being my first DSLR i'll be dead happy if i just buy, but i'm curious at how the D3000 will perform. The thing that's leaning me towards a Canon is the full compatibility of all lenses although.

Arghh so annoyed.. i forgot the time and missed an auction for a brand new 450D with the warranty by a couple of minutes.. and it ended with it at £415 :/
