£450ish for a 4k Monitor

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a 4k monitor to go with my series x and I'm just wondering what other people are using? Is it worth getting a hdr monitor that's within my budget or would it be a waste?

If you want to play anything over 4K 60hz ideally you want something with HDMI 2.1 and there are not many on the market yet. I'd recommend the 144hz 27GP950 which is over your budget at £750 if you get lucky enough to order one.

If you only want up to 60hz when I believe anything with HDMI 2.0 should be fine. Anything HDMI 1.4 would be limited to 30hz at 4K.

HDR 600 is alright, I've not played on anything less than that. Up to you if you care about it or not, not a deal breaker not having it IMO.

I had the LG UL850 and it did quite like the monitor but it died and I was just wondering if there were any better monitors out there now for a similar price. I might just see if I can get another 850 second hand and maybe upgrade to a 2.1 monitor when the prices come down.

To be honest unless you are getting a high fresh rate panel you dont really need HDMI 2.1
There are some good deals in the b grade sale for 4K 60hz screens that would do.

I see they have the 850 in stock but the only thing stopping me is the possible marks on the screen or something along those lines.

From what I understand they are mostly customer returns, you would still have a your 2 week return window if you were not happy with it so better than buying second hand IMO.

There is a thread with details on how to make offers on them too if you have not seen it yet.

Ah thanks for that. This is the first I've seen of it. I'll send an offer for the 850
