I'm planning an new build soon, and obviously would rather not have to buy a new PSU, if I can avoid it.

I currently have 450W X-Power PSU that has served me well.

The new build will be of;

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L P35 Mobo
Intel Core2 E2200 processor, aiming to get around 3Ghz from it
Ati 3870Xt graphics card
2 hard drives. 400Gb and 160Gb probably
2gb Ram
Dvd drive
Case fans

Will my 450W be up to it? Or will I be hitting problems? It works fine with my current setup (Amd Athlon 64 single core, with the 3870Xt installed)

Only 18amps :(.

It works fine with the setup I have now, so would the new setup actually draw any more power from it? As I will in effect just be swapping the mobo and processor for intel stuff, and new ram etc to match.

You'll be pushing it.

I run my rig with a 465w Enermax, but it has 33a on the 12v, which is fine for almost anything bar uber-high end and Sli/Xfire

Okay thanks, I might try it without it at first, see if it works. If not I can just buy one after.

£50 could be put to a lot of other uses, and funds are low at the moment.

Hmm, I think it'd handle it but it definitely wouldn't hurt to upgrade to something with better 12V output.

The graphics card will use around 110 W, so around 9 A.
The CPU when overclocked with a vCore of 1.30 V will use around 100 W, so around 9 A.
