45nm P5Q Pro Question

i using a P5Q PRO Mobo with Bios: 1104 (07/21/2008) do i need to update my bios to use a 45nm CPU?

Sorry if this should have been in the Motherboard thread wasnt sure?

Nope - I'm using the Deluxe with 0704 and a Q9450.

No but I would to be on the safe side, makes things easier for when you upgrade....hope this helps

Nope, I've got an E8400 at 4 gig on a P5Q-VM

Nope that bios is fine. I have a p5q pro and only the 0703 bios and below could not detect the 45nm chips.

I'd upgrade it anyhow. BIOS failures are so rare these days it's not worth not upgrading them.

Dont those boards have a backup anyway to prevent bios failures? Or would that not prevent killing it when updating?

Are you sure? A friend of mine sent one back a few weeks back when his bios updated failed...

i used to have a P5N -E SLI and that had the backup bios im 99% sure my P5Q Pro will be the same ? i messed up a bios on my old foxconn board and had to speak to a technical help in holland as i messed up the board when i stupidly tryed to flash the bios via windows will never do that again
