Hi all,

due to replies warning me not to get a plasma for this job (here) I now need some advice on an LCD TV.

We have a call monitoring system in which we were using a projector to display the results on a board, so that the call centre could see how many calls waiting/missed/incoming etc.

however the cost of the bulbs was getting silly as the projector was on almost 24/7.

So we are looking to replace the projector with a wall mountable screen.

This is where I need your help.

We were looking originally at a £1000 budget, however this now seems a little un-realistic, so what do you guys recomend.

The TV will have to have D-sub connector so it can be connected direct to a conventional video output on the back of a PC.

You could have a look at the new toshiba 42" and 47" LCDs...

They both be well over your £1000 budget :(

I think the closest LCDs your going to get around the £1000 mark is going be only about 40" tops...(Something like the 40" samsungs, but i think these are still somewhere around £1200 as well.)

But then again..I think what ever you choose is going to really need 1.1 pixel mapping on the VGA input...So you may need to go for a panel only...as most TVs have over scan on them..Which would make the TEXT on the screen unclear..

So make sure whatever LCD you choose in the end has 1.1 pixel mapping on the VGA input..
