Hey guys, just wondering if anyone could shed some more light on this topic.

Thinking about getting 460s in SLI as they out perform the 480, but there is contradictory evidence out there.

I currently game at 1920x1080 on a 40" LCD.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks.

In this review, every game (except STALKER 1, and Quake 4) plays faster on GTX 460 SLI compared to a GTX 480 at 1920x1200 resolution.

Your res is slightly lower, but I'd bet it will be the same relationship at 1080p.

Just make sure you have a decent PSU.

If you play starcraft 2 get the 480 instead. Sli scales very well, but its much nicer and makes life easier if you've got a single gpu as not all games support it. I only really see sli/xfire as an interim upgrade now and much prefer having one gpu.

why one card I'm playing starcraft with 470's sli game runs smooth as hell and u can always use sli in games that dont support it by using N hancer.

If your going to get the 460's and sli I'm sure u will be overclocking and as these cards can hit 900Hz on the core u might want to rethink your choice of power supply

I have a 750w corsair which i have just replaced with a sapphire 1050w as when i overclocked power draw was just a little to much, dont get me wrong worked fine but u could hear the stress on the power supply and i just wanted a little bit more leg room

go for the 850 corsair that should be plenty enough unless u thinking on adding an 8000 series for physx

To be honest, 750W should be fine for the 460s, they only draw as much as a 5870 when overclocked, and 2 5870s on a 750W is fine.
