Tweaktown test a lovely pair of 465s link

The setup is just fast at any resolution and it's going to be a great little future proofing setup as it really handles everything you throw at it at all resolutions.

What's also great about the setup is that if someone says ‘why go two GTX 465s when you could go a single GTX 480?’, you can say ‘because this setup is faster’.

It’s so often we see mid range SLI / CF setups perform worse or very similar to the higher end models, but this setup does really outshine the other single GTX 400 setups.

Shame they don't compare it to crossfire performance... the range of applications tested seems suspiciously select too.

Indeed. Basically they do have the games that either support Physx or Nvidia gets good scores. I mean seriously. FC2 and HAWX? And what other the other two games I never heard too?

If they don't test DX11 cards on Dirt 2 and BFBC2 what's the point?

As usual they don't include any similarly priced ati setups, cf5850's/5970. Yet another pander to nvidia review, shame really.

So let me get this straight?

Overall two gtx465 in SLI are 1.5% faster than a single gtx480 and costs almost £100 more and Tweaktown raves over their performance?????

The only reason to have two gtx465's in SLI is to go multi monitor but Nvidia haven't fixed the driver yet so you don't really know how they would compare.

I can see the point in two gtx470 in SLI despite them being yet another £80 over a gtx480 as two gtx470 really do thrash a single gtx 480 and hence two gtx465's.

I have also noticed that although max and average framerates are better than a single gtx480, minimum framerates are quite often worse.

another pointless review, "second once again only to the gtx 480", surely considering sli 465's are around £500 it would make sense to test them against crossfire 5850's or a 5970

damn that nvidia review checklist

tell you what, there is some brilliant scaling going in that, nearly 100% on Resi 5 and Arkham Asylum!

quite impressive in SLI to say the least......just need to make em cheaper now :D
