Running a 4670k on the Asus Hero VI MB with a h80i equipped with 2x Noctua NF-F12's (running at max RPM) in push pull. I'm drawing air into the rad from inside the case and exhausting it out the back.
I have been getting ~30-35 degrees idle, which seems fine, around ~58-63 degrees after playing Borderlands 2 / Dota 2 for a couple of hours, which seems OK (but not great) too.
Because my temps seemed reasonably high for stock, I decided to run Prime95 small FFT and reached 100 degrees after a couple of seconds - I manually stopped the test myself.
According to CorsairLink2 my pump speed is around 2000 RPM, so that seems to be functioning.
Obviously these temps are significantly higher than It should be. The only thing I can think that would be causing this would be if the CPU block hasn't been fitted properly.
When I installed the h80i the only problem I encountered was that the back plate felt a little loose even after installing the stand-off's. I followed the instructions to the letter, and despite my concerns the CPU block itself seemed secure once it had be tightened up.
I used the pre-applied thermal paste too, so really bad application of that can't be the issue either.
In short, I don't really know what I've done wrong, nor how to fix it. Anyone know of any videos that show step by step the installation of the h80i / or any thing they can think of that would help me fix this problem?
