Built this system around a week or so ago and instantly the cpu was a real struggle to overclock, getting anything above stable was just a real ache in the rear and in general just started to beat me down but then adjusting the ram from auto (1.488v) to 1.550v, within the stated range of 1.50/1.60v +/- 0.075 gave me 4.4Ghz off the mutli alone prime stable for a few hours but result in random restarts just sitting on the desktop doing nothing.
I decided to play with the BCLK, the strap returned nothing for me struggling to load windows with a 125 boot strap and 33 multi. This im not entirely surprised by though as I really don't know what voltages need tweaked to stabilise the strap at over stock.
I Then adjusted the BCLK manually to 103.04 reaching a multi of 44 for a frequency of 4.549Ghz, This set the memory by default to around 1333mhz, and the cpu fly's through a few hours of prime, making it passed the 25 minutes barrier a 45 multi had, can memory frequency have an impact on the OC? The fact memory bus is handled on die now just makes things more complicated. My issue now is the PCIe bus must be unstable as the graphics driver keeps dropping out and throwing up a time out error.
I know now the cpu is capable of 4.5+ but how do I either stabilise the PCIe bus or get the cpu stable with a multi of 45?
Settings.
Everything is adjusted in the bios but I just cant find my usb pen to take screen shots. stock VID is 1.275, currently the furthest I have gone is a vcore of 1.320, what is the safe maximum you would go with this, temps are sitting at a max of 75 during prime under a custom WC loop.
