OK so first attempt at the 4690k Its at 4.6 with 1.252v and perfectly stable. can run prime / games etc. is 1.300v ok ? i tried finding my max voltage but my god does it get hot at 1.3v so getting about 70c (in prime 60c in games) at 1.252 running prime. Going to try 4.7 in a second.

1.35 is the maximum I would go for 24/7 on a good air cooler/AIO. But if you have to bump the voltage a huge amount going from 4.6 to 4.7 then the extra 100Mhz isn't worth the added heat.

Seems like it won't last long at 70c constant ethier worth the investment of wc now the upgrade later or upgrade now and we when that reaches maxes

70c is only in prime. Usually about 60-62 in games, i dont run prime for long i just run it for 10 mins then if stable just use it and test it that way. 70c should not really shorten its life too much. Fancy a custom loop but unsure twhat way to go atm

About 5 degrees C at load. If you compare the bottom face of the pure to the 212, you will see the pure has six heat pipes, two more than the 212.

(see comparisons here)

I suspect there will be a slightly larger gap with excellent thermal paste used.

But, tbh your temps sound fine enough as they are? :)
