4690k or 4790k?

Hi ,

You considering going with two GPU's in crossfire anytime soon.?

The i5 will do everything I believe without issue, but to get those extra couple frames and for dual card set ups then the i7 is recommended.
 
What I think thegooner means is your card will bottleneck before a i5 4690k will. So single card , the i5 is a fine choice. :p

In the latest games and high quality settings the 280x will be a bottleneck as far as maximum fps that you will get, a faster processor like the 4970k wont help much.

For gaming an R9 290 + 4690K would be far better than a 280X + 4970K.

Similar money for the above 2 setups.

Guess it depends on what else you plan to use your pc for and how much your willing to spend.
