Does anyone know if there's going to be a 1Gb version of the 4770 in the foreseeable future? Or just the 512Mb version?

Cheers

^ As he said. No point having a 1gb version of that card. Wouldn't have that great of a difference. If you want a more powerful card, take a step up to the 4850 which is just a little bit more expensive.

There is a XFX one, not sure when it's going to be released though.

The Fudzilla article about the XFX model mentions that XFX are the second company to prepare one, but doesn't say who the first were.

Anyway, it looks like at least two companies are thinking about it.

Would help make them crossfire beasts. A 4770 X2 2GB card would also be useful where there are space/power constraints but you want performance.

Only 60 odd p more at OCUK at the moment.

If the 4850 is faster, begs the question why anyone would buy a 4770, unless to fit in a HTPC (looks smaller).

4770 vs 4830 is the one I don't understand. The 4850 is more powerful, and it shows to some extent, but those two seem to be competing against each other.

Oh well, can't fault lower prices :-)

I believe the 4770 is the replacement of the 4830, Im sure when stock runs out you wont see the 4830 anymore, kinda like you can still get the 9800 as well as the new 250, both same card still

Just to make things more confusing they are going to be using 640 shader RV770LE chips with a 128bit GDDR5 interface for the HD 4730.

Been reading about the potential of the 4770 o/c'd but what about the 4850?

I would liketo get the 4770 due to lower power consumption & cooler running, but am thinking that the 4850 will be a bit faster when overclocked.
All swings and roundabouts..
