my pc crashed with prime 95, it was at 4.7

what's the cpu voltage supposed to be, mine is 1.322V.......BCLK =100...vccin = 1.800

this was done in BIOS Smart Tweak, all the other settings are on Auto

thanks

Every board and chip combo will have a different set of settings. Your 4.5ghz @ 1.28 looks good. I'd be happy here, maybe try taking the v down a notch. Though 4.6ghz should not be any higher than 1.36v.

Read up on the clocking voltages, and which ones to change. It's not as easy as change one thing to get a system stable at 4.7ghz on haswell. It takes quite a bit trial and error and a few Blue screens.

thanks

the pc gamed easily yesterday at 4.1 so 4.5 is fine, but i might mess around with it again later this week.

i couldn't get the rig stable until i saw that Easytune was set at 4.1 for every reboot, so it cancelled my 4.5 every damned time.... i deleted it straight away....pc is holding firm at 4.5

to get above 4.6 i'd need to go to night classes, because the software is way too complicated for me :D

in Smart Tweak it has a 4.7 auto default setting, but Prime crashes it very quickly...1.322v, but there aren't many settings there to adjust, so maybe if somebody knows i'd appreciate it.

it cant go higher, because it crashed at 1.35 cpu volts as well..... unless of course it has to go much higher :eek:........about 1.42, but then it gets too hot.

my suspicion is that it has to be 1.42v

Try manual from the bios mal, forget those tune program's. Good for monitoring things mate that is all.

Set your multi in bios to 46x = 4.6ghz
Set your v core to 1.36v ( will state that this could be a high voltage 24/7, but for testing it's fine )
Set the ring/catch/uncore multi to 40x or 4ghz
You may need to add +0.15 - 0.35v on the ring voltage ( can use offset )

Obviously set your normal stuff like ram etc. save and restart and have a see.

Don't let the blue screens put you out. It's trial and error. You need to moderately , increase either core v, ring v, maybe even system agent v a bit.

See how you get on. :)

hi

yes it's done from Bios, Smart Tweak is in the Bios, it's Easy Tune that was on the Desktop....... i fancy 4.7 later on this week
