4770 with 4870 crossfire?

65W is the TDP, not power consumption.

Also he said how he got the load figure and it shows it right on the screenshot.
 
it is never advisable to use a psu that is barely rated to power the kit its connected to.

I wont bother reading the entire argument and dont care who is right or wrong, but using a 500w psu on a pc that demands 500w at load is asking for trouble. doomed for failure ect.

as a rule of thumb, always give yourself at LEAST a good 25% headroom. ie a hx620 would be better if your components drew 500w.

dont be silly with psu's, its not worth the risk.

a 4770 + 4870 crossfire on a 500w psu = no. not even on a good one. It'll wor, probably, but you are pushing your luck.

an e8400 @ 4GHz with 4870 CF does have headroom.......as stated it will use probably 300-350w.

Well in terms of the 9800GTX+ vs 4870 argument...evidence is hardly needed as for most it's accepted as fact that the 9800GTX trades blows with the 4850, winning more often than not.

Now, seeing as the 4870 is a good bit faster than the 4850 it's obvious that it will destroy a 9800GTX.

I mean really, you are the one who first made the incredulous statements so you should be able to dig up a benchmark or 2 showing the 9800GTX+ beating a 4870?

i do believe there are benchmarks out there that show the 8600 YES the 86 not talking about the 8800, the 8600gt that is hammering the crap out of the 4870, so how you gonna come here and say that the 9800gtx+ is slower?? when benchmark shows the 9600gt is considerably faster than the 4870
