4770k or 4771

? i thought thats what these forums were for aswell.....

The forums do not exist to spoon feed you.

You do not want to copy and paste "Xeon 1230v3" into Google?

I did just that as I did not know about them and to be fair, they are a VERY good fit for what I might need.

to be honest i value the information and advice i usually get on these forums....rather than searching google and getting info thats useless ....were as usually on here some one has experience on having one....any way close this thread mods please as a answer like "thats what google is for " is not the answer i was after.......

dude, seriously?

you got the advice you wanted.

100% no OC - get Xeon
if you want to have the option - get 4770K on Z87

either 4770 or 4771 make no sense.

if you want more info on Xeon, use the friggin google, there's ton of info on that chip.

I own 1230v2, so I know Xeons are excellent value.

next time, try to be more proactive and independent, rather than just waiting for someone on the forum to spoon-feed you all the info.

It's nice to hear what other people have to say about the subject you are interested in. There opinions and thoughts with regards to a particular item you my want or need.

People do it all the time on these boards, and they don't get told to go and google it.

Imo, I'd have added more info in your original post, about you wants and needs however.

Christ guys, some sense of community you give out. Might as well just shut the place down since you can find anything on google.

Funny considering you've also started threads asking for advice/info. Some people like to hear different opinions on top of the info you can find using Google. Also, i think most forums would be pretty quiet if everyone just used a search engine.

Exactly thats what forums are for to help each other out....i understand you can use google and doh!!!! already did and most people do but then again...i suppose someone who only joined these forums a few months back knows whats best....lol ill look out for his posts and recommend google in future....then again i am not that childish lol

just wondering what one to get im not really a overclocker so doesnt really matter....thanks

If you're not an overclocker, you're best bet really is the Xeon 1230 V3. Just make sure you get a compatible mobo, some may need a bios update etc.

The 1230 V3 is basically a 4770K without overclocking and about £50+ cheaper. I'm running my 4770K at stock now for gaming (OC for benching) and it's more than fast enough tbh. 1230 v3 and cheap mobo and you'll have a decent setup that's relatively cheap :)

I'm currently considering upgrading and have been searching and reading through tons of really useful and informative threads on here - if everyone was just told to use google there wouldn't be any.

It's always worth asking in forums like these. For example when I was looking for a new GPU everything pointed to the GTX 680 beating the AMD 7970 until it was pointed out here that significant improvements with recent drivers had dramatically turned that around.

These forums are for that purpose, For people to help people but some on here have a massive chip on their shoulder and act like complete and utter First class "A" holes to others for no reason.

Anyway, If you want to overclock I would suggest getting the 4770K, If your going to be running it at stock and have no need to overclock then the Xeons are pretty cool but to be honest I'm not well informed about them as I've never dealt with them outside of having 1 in the computer at work.

Yeah leaning towards the 4770k as thats what most people have and sounds like a steady all round cpu.....
