Hi,
I'm not sure this question will make sense but here goes.

All reviews now show that haswell runs very hot, will this heat up the inside of a pc case faster than my old i920? Or is it more like the same overall heat but focused into a smaller area due to the die shrink? So you need a quality cooler but overall case airflow requirements should remain the same.

It's about the same as your 920 for temps,my 3770k is similar but there's much better coolers out now than when I had my 920,the dual tower coolers like silver arrow and noctua d14 are good

You'll see around 70-75c @4.5ghz with a good cooler imo

It's a common misconception that hot CPUs are producing more heat than cold running CPUs. In reality it's more complicated than that - yes, a hot CPU could be dumping more heat energy in your case, but it could also just be that the CPU is poor at emitting the heat they produce (such as IB and HW). The facts are HW is a low power processor, particularly at idle.

I currently use a phantek with 2 fans on my i920, so the cooler is pretty good...its my case airflow thats not so good....so it would be helpful if the overall heat production wasn't actually as sky high as reviews suggest, just that the heat source is very focused.
