4770k to 8700k?

Is It worth to upgrade to 8700k and maximus x hero from 4770k and cheap mobo, for 100 pounds (this is after selling my ddr3 ram and cpu). I got 1080ti and play most of the current games. My current z97 mobo is on its way out as it is loosing ram sticks... tried my home media cpu 4790 and it is not the cpu related.

I already have ddr4 ram so the question is, is it worth it would I see much improvement or perhaps alternative route?

I had the z87 setup since 2014 and it was a well spent 500 pounds. Yet as it was in and out so many times over the years I must have bent some of the pins slightly while swapping parts out ( I think when I got the be quiet dark rock pro 4 but it was fine for a year )



How much more would I need to spend to see a much bigger improvement? Many thanks Sam

Another question if I may. Is b die ram worth it for 8700k? Not sure if 8700k would benefit from extra speed or tighter timings perhaps?

I can have a 32gb(2x16gb) 8pack edition kit for £80, I managed to get 16gb (2x8gb) but it might me little low for some games and my browsing at the same time.
