4770k Turbo clock and DRAM frequency

Hello folks,

I presume the term for the 4770k increasing its speed when required is termed "turbo"?


Also can someone please correct me if I am wrong about this.

Usually when you increase the CPU frequency, the base clock for DRAM also should increase, so how does the Mobo ensure you dont overclock the RAm beyond its spec (e.g. in my case its PC12800/1600Mhz).

Not sure if that makes sense...

The RAM won't overclock past what you set it at, the ratio will just change.

You will only overclock the ram if you're over clocking the CPU by increasing the fsb frequency. The two are otherwise independent.

Incidentally, what FSB frequency can 4770ks go up to? (Infact what are they defaulting at currently?)
