hi

just got an Asus N4L-VM Core Duo Micro ATX Socket 479 Motherboard and am wanting to get a T2500 cpu but am only finding the 478 pin versions about; can I use a 478 pin version in my 479 motherboard?

Many thanks

Socket 479 and 478 are pin incompatable.

BUT !

some places/ppl mistakenly list true 479 mobile parts as 478.
So the Mobile part you want to use will be socket 479, and they are all 479.

Checked on Intels cpu finder and it showed that it is made in both 478 and 479 pin formats.

why even bother with yonah?

Well, i've managed to get a T2400 for £40 so alls well.

Regarding reason; its a cheap alternative and a bit different. Planning a military radio mod so should be ideal.
